Four years ago we had the highest unemployment rate in America, and wages were stuck. Today, we’ve gone from 36th in America for wages and jobs to ninth best. We are moving to clean, renewable energy, and making major investments in our children’s education, our workers’ training, and our roads and bridges.
To me, this means the difference between people throwing up their hands and giving up, to rolling up their sleeves and going to work. It means stronger families, stronger communities and children who know they can grow up and stay here if they choose. After our lost decades, Rhode Island is once again becoming a state where everyone can get ahead and have a good life – no matter where you're from or where you live.
We’ve come a long way. We can’t go backwards. That's why today, I'm announcing my re-election for Governor of Rhode Island.
I am going to stay focused on bringing the change our people need and deserve. Let's finish the job we started together.
